If you wish to know how philosophy can be implemented in daily life, read this eclectic book. On the surface, it is an extremely easy-to-read and understandable book; but it shrewdly draws from different philosophies such as Hinduism, Stoicism, and Sport, sport psychology which makes it an interdisciplinary book.
In 24 chapters, the book condenses all the possible dimensions of sport psychology ranging from focus to self-talk. Though it is a prescriptive book, it does not seem too preachy at any point at all. Moreover, there are interesting activities strewn across the length and breadth of the book, and hence, it is rather an enjoyable read!
And the book is showered with wise-cracks: “There’s no glory in dwelling in the past; and there are no prizes for feeling bad…Breathe out the disappointment, breathe in the confidence.”
“Don’t always train in ideal conditions, because that’s not how the world works. Instead, practise with distractions.”
The best part about this book is that it is suited to all age-groups; its simple language and eloquent explanations makes this book for all people.
This book is timeless; it is a necessary Bible for everyone that can be visited over and over again. With this book, Samir Parikh and Divya Jain have definitely created something good for the society (it emphasizes on character), and transform it. Happy reading!
